Valerie Juergens Counseling

I am honored to work alongside children and families to help them thrive. As a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) I believe it is through safe, nurturing relationships that children are free to express themselves through their natural language of play. With compassion and understanding, I use both a child centered and directive approach, while encouraging outside support systems essential to this work. My previous life as a certified teacher including special interest in drama, learning styles and special education richly inform my work. My hope is to offer a therapeutic relational space of safety and trust, where together areas can be explored that seem to interfere with the life meant to be experienced. All of us have experienced trauma (lower case or capital T) that can deeply impact the lens through which we view each other, ourselves, and God. Through relationship and powerfully effective trauma modalities including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Life Span Integration, paralyzing beliefs are identified and transformed into empowering truth.
